Reflection week 6

Dear friends
I can not believe that 42 days has gone and we only still have 4 weeks. It is really amazing and interesting course. Evey week I expect to learn something new, my expectation comes true and this exactly what has happened in this week. I have learned how to deal with large classes. Even though I am teaching a class which has only 27 students and this seems very small, my friends whom are teaching in colleges have large classes. So I sat down with them and I cascaded what I learn to their benefit. I also was amazed with the PowerPoint activity. I have learnt two things how to make a PowerPoint activity and most important I have learnt how the PPT activity can be interactive in the classroom. I think from my point of view an successful PPT is that involve all the students. The involvement of our learners is essential and very crucial in order to move from the teacher-centered to the student-centered. This of course will impact on the students and motivate them to learn. I have learnt that by using technology ideas or tools we can solve some problematic issue that arise in the classroom here and there from time to time. So I am focusing on using technology to make my students a good writer. More explanation and elaboration will be given in the project plan on week eight.
Since you are reading my reflection I hope that this course means to you a lot as it does on me.
I wish all the best of luck .
Naif

  1. Hello Naif
    Good Evening from India!

I agree with you that this week was really enriching for all of us.
Not only you, even I learnt many new things this week.
Use of PPT in an interactive way has come as the most enriching and beneficial learning experience for me.
Till this week, I always felt that only I deal with large classes.
But now I feel that its a Universal phenomenon.
Moreover as you said these novel change will motivate our students greatly, I too feel that introduction of these things result in actual involvement of our students in the learning process.
So we all must keep on learning and sharing!

    With regards

I find your idea of sharing the material with your fellow teachers very good. I am going to prepare a workshop for them whan I finish this course.
I am with you that this week we have learned a lot about PPTs. I have a complete new mind frame about it.

  3. Hello Naif,

I see that for all the participants in the course this week has been very enriching, and a one in which we learned a lot! Working with interactive powerpoint has been great and really motivating.
Your idea of sharing your knowledge with your collegues is fantastic! This is what we as teachers have to do, to work together in order to be better teachers day after day. I think I will also plan an activity with my colleagues to share what we've learned in the course.
I'm very glad to see how enthousiastic we are and how we are learning from each other.
Congrats for your efforts this week and hope you get excellent results in your classes.
